Mississippi Conference On Church Music and Liturgy - History

2011 Theme

One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism,

Four Great Feasts:

        How baptism Illuminates

the Great Feast Days of the Church

Although every Sunday liturgy is suitable for baptism, certain occasions in the Church highlight the importance of our shared baptismal ministry. This year’s conference will consider how baptism influences the feasts of the Baptism of Jesus, the Easter Vigil, Pentecost and All Saints.

How can we craft compelling liturgies for these occasions? How can our baptism shape our Christian life? How do the symbols of water, oil, and fire help us to communicate God’s saving work? How do the Scriptures for these days enrich our understanding of baptism?
